Indoor plants aren't really my thing, but most commonly when people complain about trees dropping sticky sap it's not coming straight from the tree - it's coming out of aphids or other insects feeding on the tree. Check your plant for insects.

If this is the problem then you will need to identify the insect. Indoors you may be able to ease it through environmental means. Some insects, for example, prefer dry air, so regularly misting the plant with water can help. Alternatively, look for a suitable biological control - something that eats or otherwise destroys the problem insect.
