best way to get rid of bore worms?

We have bore worms in oak trees that we transplanted a few years ago. When we transplanted the tree caliber was 8 to 10 inches. Some of the trees didn't transplant well, we've been nursing them along with water, fertilizer and prunning. This is the 4th year after transplanting and they are now lookiing healthy except for the bore worms. Some trees have lost sections of bark, what can we do to get rid of the worms and repair the lost bark?

Please help!
