Hi Alyssa
I'm curious if you ever got a reply to your question about planting under a liquidambar... or if you went ahead and did any planting. I'm in the same boat. I have five giant beautiful LAs in our front yard which I do not want to remove, but I can't live with just dirt under them. Coincidentally, even though I found this post on a google search, I'm just over the hill in Orinda. I'd love to hear what you have learned! Thanks.
