We had a beautiful Blue Atlas Cedar in our garden but the high winds have caused the main stem of the tree to break off about 2/3 of the way up. This has left just one long tall branch but this looks too damaged at the base and we will need to get it taken down.
There are plenty of lower branches but the tree will now lose its pyramid shape.
What are the chances of the tree surviving? Would it be able to regrow taller branches?
I am concerned that we don't rush to take the tree down if it can be saved.
Any advice you can give would be appreciated.
