To install a path, I want to till the ground between two sour cherry trees but not if it does significant harm to the trees. The trees are mature, at least 20 years old. The path would be about 5 ft from each tree trunk. Tilling the ground would definitely chew through roots near the surface. My question is whether or not this would harm the trees. Thank you for considering this post.
