I just moved in and now have two very large liquid amber trees in my front yard. The roots all seem to be very close to the surface and are wreaking havoc on the driveway and sidewalk. I also noticed that there are some fairly large roots running along the side of the house (there is a sprinkler line there) very close to the foundation. I have the utility companies coming in the next two days to mark the utilities. Is there any corrective/preventive actions I can take to prevent damage to foundation, utilities, and pavement? And is there a good way to assess how big a problem this is?
