Calculating multi-stem RPAs using the Helliwell method

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has a view as to whether using the "Halliwell" method for calculating the root protection area for a multi-stem tree is suitable under current UK planning regulations (BS5837 2012)? I understand there are possible other methods, and also that none of it is an exact science anyway, but would be grateful for a view on this.

Thanks in advance for your help

Kind regards
Will
