Is a Cornubia, Cotoneaster, a Rowan Tree?

Does anyone know whether a Cotoneaster frigidus 'Cornubia' is classified as a Rowan tree.

I need wood from a Rowan tree for a project, and have one of these in my garden. My husband says it's a Rowan, I can see it belongs to the Rosaceae family, and is linked to sorbus, which the Rowan is too, but is it a Rowan?

Hope someone can help thanks?
