Sores in trunk

Sores in trunk

I have a very big African Tulip (trunk is 1 meter in diameter).
Both the main trunk and most branches developed large sores.
Some sores go deep, all the way to the wood.

The sores donīt appear to be too agressive to the tree, since they heal from one year to the next, but it has happened that a big branch broke a fell to the ground, and I think that there are more sores every year.
