Christmas Tree Yellow Stuff on Branches

Hi.

I have a small christmas tree planted in my garden which has developed a yellow fungus like covering over some of the branches. The needles themselves appear unaffected and it is sprouting new branches and needles.
Is this anything to worry about please.
