New Tree Inspection standard consultation

New Tree Inspection standard consultation

posted by Chris Hastie on May 30 2008 15:24

The British Standards Institute have begun a consultation on a new British Standard Recommendations for Tree Safety Inspections - BS8516.

The consultation runs until the end of July 2008. It is vital that as many stake holders as possible comment on this standard to ensure that if it is eventually adopted it is fit for purpose. Since there is a strong liklihood that the standard will be used as a bench mark by the courts it is important to ensure that its recommendations will not impose an overly onerous duty on land owners and managers of large tree stocks.

To comment on the proposed standard visit the BSI's draft review system.
