Trees growing in my patio containers

Posted by Michele , May 03,2005,18:33       Forum

I have 3 Oak and one Pine tree that have taken root in my patio containers. They have been alive and well in them for 2 summers and one winter. The tallest oak is about 3 feet tall now with 20-30 leaves, the smallest about 6 inches tall with 4-5 leaves. They are all in the same 18 inch container. The pine is about 6 inches tall. My question is, should I attempt to re-plant in larger containers? Will they survive in containers? Will they survive replanting? We live in a townhouse in a forested area, so I do not have my own yard to plant them in. I don't want to kill them, but I don't want them to be overcrowded and die either. Any advice?
