Bark @ base of Post Oak tree falling off
We live in Ft. Worth, Texas and have a huge post oak tree in our front yard that is the favorite of the neighborhood. It has just completed blooming this spring with beautiful leaves. It doesnt seem to be quite as thick as last year. The concern is the bark at the base is coming off on one side. In the place where the bark is coming off it looks like wood rot. What should be done? Anyone else had this before?
