Sudden oak death ain't in the Midwest (California and Oregon only, so far). As I said in a reply to the same post in another tree forum, the two-lined chestnut borer (Agrilus bilineatus) is a native insect that only attacks trees that are already stressed or declining for some other reason. I have no idea why this guy is trying to foment panic regarding this beetle, maybe he's hawking an insecticide?
