Hi Justine,
There are hundreds of varieties of fig trees with some grown as ornamentals and others that produce fruit. Some are grown as houseplants and others will grow outdoors. You don't give enough info on how and where it's planted and what is happening to the tree. Ex: leaves turning brown, leaves turning yellow, pests on tree, sap leaking, environmental changes, where you live, what type of fig, etc. Please give more info.
