I live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the moose love to eat willow trees of which I have 3 in my yard. I want to have one willow, that is close to the house, pulled out and replaced with an evergreen. How deep do willow tree roots grow? I think the trees were probably planted 10 years ago.
The main reason I am willing to do away with the tree is that one of my dogs lost an eye last winter when the moose was in our fenced yard eating the tree and kicked him. He is lucky to be alive. I have also found out that the moose will return to the same spot for the new groth on the willow.
Thank you for any help you are able to give me,
