Hi Cheyna,
You don't say what color the fruit is. I'm thinking possibly some type of plum or cherry. Maybe a Mirabelle plum. There are several different varieties and their fruits are about the size of a golf ball. Is this your tree?

Where these trees possibly planted by a former owner or do you think they self seeded? This site is in the UK and people write from all over the world. Where are you located? That might give me some idea of what it could be.
