About 8 yrs ago my husband bought me a 1.5m magnolia grandiflora, the arboretum where we bought the tree said it would take about 2/3 yrs to start flowring. The tree looks healthy with beautiful leaves and has grown more than twice its original size, but in all these years it has never produced a flower.
I have seen these trees growing in the most "unfriendly" conditions, yet here is in the middle of the garden (therefore has a good area around it), we feed it, but so far it has remain flowerless. What could be re reason?
