"insects"? on our Acers

Posted by Ellie , May 14,2006,19:00       Forum

Hi,

We have just noticed insects - we think! - on both of our acer's trunks, they aren't on the branches. The insects are about half a centimetre in diametre and the top of them looks like bark, the underside which sort of squishes out is white and feels like a squashed marshmallos, they do squish and "gunk" comes out so I know they are alive but no idea what they are or if they will do any damage to our trees. Both trees are pot bound and well cared for.

Thanks for any help you can give me :-)

Ellie
