Dwarf willow tree

we brought a dwarf willow tree that had lush green leaves. since planting it, its been atacked by lots of snails, and dispite our best efforts it seems to be dying, its gone very limp and the leaves are going brown and falling off, we water it every morning and night, and we think its something other than the snails that killing it.are we over watering it? its supposed to be golden with yellow catkins, but is becoming browner by the day, with life slowly draining away. please help! many thanks Nina
