Washington Hawthrone Tree

Posted by Joanie Koehn , Oct 21,2006,19:16       Forum

I got seedlings from the Abhor Day Foundation for a small donation some time ago, they were supposed to be flowering trees. I have what I think is two Washington Hawthrone trees, one is at least 15 feet tall. What I'm trying to determine is whether or not it is really a Wash Hawthrone. It has thorns but the leaves are not any red or orange just boring green, and it has yet to flower!! I'm wondering if it has to grow a few more years or are there male and female trees?

Thanks in advance for any help.
I guess I need to get a good tree identification guide with a leaf identification
