Lemon tree problem

My lemon tree is grown from seed ,now about five years old and 6feet high suddenly developed brown leaves at the top 1/3rd and looks like its dying.
Its at a South facing wall in a seaside town in Kent.
I've taken off a top brown shoot where the leaves are brown and it is
very bendy and doesn't actually snap,its is not green inside.
