UK Tree Care - http://www.oak-wood.co.uk/uktc/
Hi Graham !
Some years back I visited Winkworth Arboretum (with Andy P).
They had and were using various paints etc. in relation to several
problems including dear. However, these sort of questions were
posed. They may have some helpful info. and results !

Subject: ANTI CLIMB PAINT
UK Tree Care - http://www.oak-wood.co.uk/uktc/
Has anybody tried applying Anti Climb paint to the twigs and branches of new
planting stock in a bid to discourage vandalism. We use it to discourage
tree climbing where there is a climbing problem on larger trees without a
problem. I am concerned the grease content may clogg and damage the bark of
younger trees. Naturally warning labels would be affixed to the stake of
each tree treated. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Regards to all Graham Banks
