With respect this is not the way to go loking for support.
Take the paper you have prepared and devise a questionnaire around it. Then
have the AA send it out to the industry including the Colleges.

You should also consider an industry survey of its content, i.e. does the
industry consider its content to be sufficient to satisfy needs. If so what
are the relative weightings that each syllabus area should have. Without
this the qualification, which I fully support, could run into problems.

You can get assistance on the industry survey from Russell Ball at ISA as we
did this for Certification.

Be aware that the process is not a short one and QCA will require a detailed
Quality Assurannce Statement and Process for the qulaification together with
details of security and a clear indication of the separation between Church
& State if you follow my drift. Contact Dave Dowson for more info on this
aspect as he got the original QCA approval.

I hope this helps, if you want a more detailed discussion, call me at
myerscough or email directly to docallaghan@xxxxxxxxxxx.ac.uk

There are other things happening in education that are relevant to this and
that will make this qulaiufucation more attractive and buoyant. For example
Edexcel is not planning to include Arboriculture in the new National HND's -
seems to me that the Tech Cert. could fill a gap left by Edexcel.

Food for thought.

For a dozen years or so the above qualification has been available to tree
care professionals and people in associated industries. It fills an
important gap between RFS Certificate and RFS Diploma.

As most of you probably know achievement of the award is gained by passing
a
written examination and then successfully completing a management
exercise.

I have been co-ordinating the qualification on behalf of the AA for 6
months
and it has now been decided that the qualification needs to come under the
control of an awarding body. I have detailed the benefits of this in an
article in the recent Newsletter(attached).

Before the award can be accepted by the awarding body it has to be
confident
that the qualification is supported by the industry and to that end I
would
be extremely grateful if anyone who could provide written support to
please
do so either by writing to Ampfield, emailing them or me
oakes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx.freeserve.co.uk

Thanks very much
