For those boxes which required fixing on trunks, in a
previous existence at college I used to drill with a
brace and bit, and use dowel pegs. Trees still
standing and boxes only generally "removed" by
climbers practising! (Though what they thought they
were practising - Lord only knows!)
Even fairly substantial boxes (eg Tawny Owl Chimneys)
can be fixed in this way, althogh two pairs of hands
can be useful at times!
