You suggest a phenomenon that is well-known in quantum physics, known as
Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle. This (more or less) states that the
action of making observations in a closed system distorts that system from
its unobserved state.
Its the flip side of Schrodinger's Cat: it is the action of opening the box
that determines its status, and by definition this is different to before
the box was opened.
Given that natural laws proven in one field tend to be ubiquitous, you are
probably right.
I'm sure that I've grossly over-simplified the physics but, as my wife
doesn't read this forum, I'll probably get away with it!
