Yeah Nick,
I had the same thoughts about this project but they are kind of limited to a 50 mile radius. If you were right next to the motorway they'd stretch it a bit but the logisitics of the operation were quite terrifying; they only have space to store 3 days supply, so Christmas day on a monday would seriously hinder them.
In reality they're not really interested in the stuff we produce, they want a very regular size chip and their grants depend on the stuff being from a renewable resource. Arguably my taking down a dead tree did not meet the criteria. Even sawmill offcuts were not strictly renewable by their criteria.
I believe Steve Allen at Leeds was actually supplying them with some woodchip (they were allowed to for some startup reasons) but the plant had trouble with the quality, Steve was apparently having to screen it up and down - to get the too big and too small chips out!

So .... don't hold your breath.
