Hi simon

in responce to your question. for a number of years i was first call on
local authority tree gang, and saw a wide range of sigts.
most of the seriouse damage to property that was well built (not just a
shed) was in 1987. the worst being a massive oak tree, that had come over
with it's root plate in tact but was so heavy it basically pushed over the
top of the flank wall and got partly through the celing in the bedroom,
bricks benithit were crushed to powder.

when we removed the tree lrts just say that the alarm bells were going in
the crane!!!

also at the same time a plane of about 100yrs - 80 yr fell on the profesials
shop at the golf cource taking out most of the flank wall and some of the
roof.

most of the other damage was gutters, tiles and celings were branches
pierced through. the cars we dealt with faired less well!!

the most recent bad building damage i dealt with was about 2 years ago when
an entire concervitory was destroyed by what was in essence a very small
branch. have you ever seen the rubbish they make those things out of!!!

on the list of funnyist thins seen 1, escort van pivoting 4' above ground on
the stump of the tree it just hit in mid flight after clouting cerb and
loosing controll, with the driver saying onesllllyyy ooocifeeeer e'm nit
drink, hic.

my favouret for comedy value though was in a road called the ridgway when a
large monteray cypress came over in wind, and took the phone out of the
person call the council to report it was moving, they watched and i listened
as there phone scated accross the floor and spanked in to the wall. it later
transpired that the BT man who had installed the system had put an external
DP box up on some rotten soffit when the tree fell pop whent the box and
clips and allong whent the phone.

regards

kev moore
