The BS is only a "Guide". If you believe roots are in short supply on the
other side, don't concede the allowance. This should be readily defensible.

Not sure on peoples consideration to this, but the below section of the
British standards, states a third of the protection zone can be removed as
long as there is a corresponding increase in the other direction. This is
good however, then the other side happens to be a road, and public footpath,
this is pointless is it not? Would anyone have a good case or possible words
to fight back with!
