I'm afraid chaps we are too late in hoping that various parties will
continue to use cork. The Cork Oak forest around Ronda in the hills up
behind Malaga is already no longer managed. I do not know what answers the
farmers will come up with and they are so attached to their land that I
can't see them felling and retiring but the demand for their produce is
going as we use more crap for everything we do. Globalise resistance
hermanos.

Anyone suggest some red wines that still have cork corks in?

Waitrose (bless) mark the labels on the shelves the bottles with plastic
closures (sic).

I'm a firm fan of Spanish Red, especially Rioja. Try Berberana -
Tempranillo from the Co-op, very good value at less than GBP5.00 per bottle.
Further up the scale Torres make especially good red & white, try Sangre de
Torro (GBP7.00+), 'cept when its on offer in Waitrose at GBP5.00.
Don't think the Spanish have discovered plastic closures yet, one hopes they
don't or we'll soon see the demise of their cork Oaks.
hic!
Bill
