Has any body heard of this tree name before and know the Latin for the
species.
Once upon a time all Ford cars were fitted with a front suspension system
that featured a coil spring fitted over a damping device to make a combined
'spring shock absorber unit' usually called a McPherson strut. I've no idea
who
McPherson was but it seems to me that someone has obviously got his wires
crossed
and misheard "Old Ford" as "Holford" and hence the cross between Blue Pine (P
wallichiana) and Veitchs Mexican White Pine (P ayachuite veitchii) has become
McPhersons Pine!
Eh?
Well someone come up with a better story!
Bill.
