I think it would be incredibly useful to investigate the distribution of
TPOs by socio-economic factors. Are TPOs all in middle class areas, for
example? There is some literature and bearing in mind all the positive
features that trees bring to their neighbourhood there is a strong argument
that trees have an even more important role to play in deprived areas.
Also, and perhaps more importantly, collecting the information would be
relatively straightforward. Friendly local tree officer with TPOs on GIS,
overlay census data, job done.
You can contact me off forum if you end up doing this and you need some
background info.
Good luck
John

Subject: msc project
Hi
I need some ideas for a research project - the one I have thought of is
being done by the AA (planning conditions relating to arb / tree
protection.
Does anyone have a need for some work to be done or can see a project that
could
be done and be put to good use in the industry.
Ideas gratefully received.
