Quite right John - the whole thing was obvious when I started to think about
it. That doesn't mean that a proper analysis is not worth it - that is
exactly what you need to justify budgets to address the situation. Elected
members are more likely to give you money to spend if you've given them a
strong reason. Especially in these days of tight budgets.

And your research recently John was, if you don't mind me saying, a very
simple idea but so very useful to all of our industry. Much of the recent
research discussed here has been obvious e.g. trees help people recover
quickly, reduce road rage etc etc. These things are totally obvious but
until it's backed up with research we sound like a bunch of airy fairy tree
huggers when selling our profession.

So sorry Jerry and Elton but I think this would be a valuable piece of
research for the industry - especially as it may throw up some geographical
anomalies if looked at on a national level. And as council (and former
public sector) land ownership is in decline as they sell it all off.

Happy xmas
Dom
