I have had to write several times to SYorks forest explaining why the sums
quoted for amenity woodland management are so much greater than the sums
anticipated for commercial forestry. (They need something to pass on to the
Grant
people).
It seems that the commercial foresters just aren't familiar with the idea of
having to drive a tractor 20 miles home every night as you can't just leave
it up the wood and expect it to be there the next day.
But I've moaned before about how traditional forestry types are out of touch
with the world we inhabit.....
