There has been very limited discussion on this forum regarding the BS5837
consultation draft. Why is this?

I and my colleagues submitted comments jointly. Before even touching on
technical issues, we found the document extremely difficult to read and
comprehend. In fact it is one of the most awkward documents I have ever
read. This begs the question how many people who were interested in
commenting failed to do so because it was such an onerous task?

It is my understanding that the BSI is charged with preparing draft
standards for consultation and that they have specialist editorial staff.
In fact in the introduction the draft states "If no comments are received to
the contrary, this draft may be implemented unchanged as a British
Standard", which seems to infer that the general (non-technical) editing is
complete. We have asked that following editing informed by the recent
consultation, the standard should be reissued for consultation.

Does anyone else have any views on the appalling quality of the consultation
draft?
