Adam, I too have missed most of this thread. I was off at a conference and
deleted a bunch (fearing that it might not all be about a fungus-host
relationship).

I think it makes immense sense for valuation and risk assessment to inform
each other. I listened to some really good discussions at the conference
which reinforced the concept. And I think that in some instances the manager
could develop an actual monetary estimate. In many instances, however, the
monetary aspects (developing the replacement cost and then depreciation
calculations) might not be necessary but the considerations of what
characteristics create or erode value provide an excellent basis for
decisions.

  Hi

I have only had time to dip in and and out of this thread, but to
  sound my own hobby horse,
I guess one of the conclusions is that CTLA should inform QTRA and
  vice versa.

Not all trees are of equal amenity value and some will justify more
  expense than others.
Equally not all trees impinge upon targets and need much expense.

A better understanding of the resource's value and the value of its
key components will help inform budget allocation.

  Regards

  Adam
