Tahir,

Have a look at http://www.acorn-p-p.co.uk/biodegradable.htm , they've
got biodegradable and photodegradable mulch mats. A quick look suggests
that the photodegradable ones last up to seven years.

Hope it helps

Hi Tahir,

I have seen some mats that have wool like substance on the
top and the backing degrades in the sunlight. They usually
last for about 2-3 seasons.

Cheers

Subject: Mulch mats

Hi

I'm new to the list so a bit about me and my project:

I've just bought a farm which was previously pasture, I'll be
planting
around 8 acres of native hedging (a 30 metre thick belt) plus
around 30
acres of orchard, what I'm looking for is a mulch mat that
will last a
few years and biodegrade completely, i.e. no polypropylene backing.

Does anybody know of a suitable product?

Thanks

Tahir
