RPA of 113m² needed, meaning a circle of radius 6m. But the tree stands
against a 2m high retaining wall, with a highway at the bottom of it.
Therefore all roots probably in site.
I'm not sure about this; depending on the wall they're probably still going
to get some air and moisture through it so you've potentially got a vertical
root plate sort of thing, at least for the 2 metres of the wall anyway? at
least
maybe? Anybody ever dug this sort of thing out?
I think there'd be an argument for going back to BS5837 1991 and using figure
2. My clients would probably say the RPA is too much we'll have to fell it.
Bill.
