Mind you I just stuck in your B lutea and it never mentioned alleghaniensis. 
No straightforward reference to change in name of Leyland either. Didn't Jim 
or Jerry point out that Ustulina has been Kretzchmaria since 1930something? 

Seems we're all working from out-of-date books, then again look how many 
websites haven't been updated in a couple of years.

To a certain extent, the level we're working at, does it matter if we're a 
couple of years behind? If it gets critical somebody'll take great joy in 
either 
putting us right or showing off his up-to-date knowledge. I routinely use 
common names only reverting to the botanical if something desperately needs 
clarification. As most of my clients can't even pronounce 'Arboriculturist' 
Liriodendron is a non-starter.
