Hi Jerry.
My orchid book refers to uk orchid mycorrhiza (damn, thats a hard word for
7.50 am)as mainly various sorts of Rhizoctonia, and doesn't link them
specifically to Early Purple, but its pretty broad brush. Apparently EP
reproduces most readily from seed which may be relevant. As we all know its
a woodland plant, albeit sometimes found in grassland, so an association
with Armillaria doesn't sound too far fetched, but predatory sounds a
little strong.
I have seen EP offered as a garden plant here and there so the right sort of
nurseryman may know something-sort of thing Keith Lever at Conway might
know..

ii) Predatory orchids?? as a way of controlling Armillaria??? Has anyone
heard of this? Clearly it's wholly impractical in terms of dealing with
with an outbreak of HF, but has anyone got any A's as to any research it
might be based on?
