David Rose made some comments about this chemical recently. It is not
approved as there is no scientific evidence that it is effective. However
that doesn't mean it still isn't being used/sold etc etc due to good profit

Orchids - google search "orchids armillaria" throws up a few links to
associations between the two. No time for more.

Hmmm...
It appears that there is an interesting mycorrhizal association between
"some species of" Armillaria and a number of non-native orchids - The
only association with our very own Early Purple (Orchis mascula) seem to
come back, via Google, to this rather nice little piece of amateur
research -

Anyone for Tree Tonic?
All good stuff, but hardly fit for publication in Nature.
But this orchid stuff is all balls anyway.... (one for you Greek
scholars there)

As for Armillatox - I don't know if it has a sell-by date, but if anyone
wants some, I think I've got a gallon or two in the back of the shed
dating back to about 1980... It's essentially a glorified Jeyes fluid
and not without its uses - very good as a winter tar-oil wash and for
cleaning out greenhouses. Probably kills Armillaria as well, where it
touches...
