Nice suggestion in theory but doesn't that raise the question of those people
with money can get their application through quicker and those that don't
have to wait?
Just being devils advocate.

Difficult one - good point about the non-payers, Dominic. It's not something
I would ever want to do, but I'm aware that the question is inevitably asked.
How about this off the top of my head - basic service is free and never comes
before 7 weeks and 6 days, and you don't necessarily get to meet the TO on
site; but for a guaranteed quicker response and site meeting with a nice
complementary copy of the TPO/s if required, there's a charge of £25? Or
maybe some kind of sliding scale for bigger applications, like DC planning.

Please read the Council's email disclaimer notification which is located at
the end of the email message.
In our current local authority financial climate I have been asked to find
out the implications for charging an administration fee for tree work
applications?
I seem to remember an old thread on this before but can anyone point me in
the right direction or has anyone had any experience in attempting this?
