I suppose I'm searching for that single word that means precisely that. Didn't
Andy Kershaw discover a single word in Malawi that meant "to jump over a river
by moonlight while carrying a water melon"?

We perhaps need to make one up "treetietuberance" or "tomtuberance" Mind you
the tie could be confusing to non arbs; A client of mine used to tie his
cuppressus fallapartalots back together with neck ties....

still open to suggestions.

Bill.

An acceptable twist to "embedded" might be the more archaic "imbedded" which
could be revived to be applied specifically by arbs in describing the tree
tie phenomena.
