FYI

BSI turnover to Dec 2004: 242 million smackers
Operating profit for the period: 17.4 million
Profit before tax for the period: 8.3 million
Director remuneration for the period: 1.1 million

Just thought you might like to know your money is going to a good cause.

Console yourself by singing after me:

Robin Hood, Robin Hood riding thru the glen etc etc

BSI headlines:

Sales Growth* of 8% over last year
Profit Growth* 41% over last year (I wonder why?)

Devolved responsibility closer to the customer - reducing central
headcount
by over two thirds, cutting bureaucracy & costs significantly

Our mission to create value for our clients through the knowledge
of our people is delivering results, and the momentum is building"

in other words....hey guys we can see we can jack prices up even more in
this monopoly situation.

In case this gets under your skin please console yourself and consider
using one of the new BSs produced last year:

BS ISO 10002: Guidelines for Complaints Handling

This further extended the quality management systems standards portfolio
with particular emphasis on customer satisfaction.

"Because they're worth it", is a phrase you might like to repeat through
gritted teeth

Someone' got us over a barrel (and it is an empty one too!)

Jon
