Below is a link to a news item on the Planning Portal about the timetable for
rolling out in England a national standard planning application form. It
will include applications/notices for works to protected trees.
It is not yet clear whether we'll get the necessary regulations in place to
make this the only legal method of submitting a TPO application. We have no
similar power to require conservation area notices to be submitted in this
form.
There will also be tree-related questions in the householder and full/outline
planning application forms.
