Forest Research and the ISA are holding their annual pests and diseases workshop/seminar at Westonbirt this year on 20th September. David Rose and Nigel Straw will be looking at the various Horse chestnut problems amongst other things. More information and details on how to book can be found at http://www.forestresearch.gov.uk/fr/INFD-6NZBXN We at the AAIS hope to publish something soon on woodpecker damage to trees. Commonly seen but not often recognised for what it is. No suggestion that it normally causes any great harm to affected trees in the UK. Picture is of recent damage on a young lime.
