I was there for a couple of days and found it, as ever, mostly very
interesting. Meeting up with colleagues and friends was the highlight.

There were a couple of major lows, already mentioned. I was particularly
disappointed that unprecedented interruptions prevented the completion of
Scott's presentation. Alternative viewpoints were not dealt with very well
in both cases, in my opinion.

Clive Mayhew's presentation about emergency planning was excellent.

Stewart Harding's desire to see trees felled in public parks was well argued
and I will certainly be careful about tree planting locations in parks in
the future. I would also recommend listening to him if you have the
opportunity.

Who won the Arboricultural Association award?

For those of us who couldn't attend, anyone care to contribute with a
summary of the highs and lows. I think you'd be doing very well to
top last years after dinner speaker and his, ahem, 'comedy' cone - it
(snigger) looks (fnarr, fnarr) just like (snort) a thingy...

Cheers
