Just a quicky,
POS is a commonly used abbreviation round here, for Public Open Space: That  
is the bit of a development site left as a 'green' (cynicism notwithstanding) 
 
area. Is this a widely used TLA? I mean is it used all over the country and 
not  just round here? It doesn't seem to be in common parlance outside  
Planning circles as far as I can see.
