OK I've put more info into an email I just sent John Blessingtonbut I'm
busy right now, I'm looking at making a start in March/April,I'd appreciate
it if you guys looked at the site and, the
idea is to create a hybrid between the two, astatic data set which registered
members can add to/amend. It couldpotentially sit anywhere, possibly several
places concurrently, theidea from my perspective is to get more data out
there in a moreaccessible and constantly updated format.

If any of you has any thoughts or queries on this please email me withAFN in
the subject line.

Re: Suitable tree Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Its a good idea but
I agree with John itneeds to sit somewhere that is easy to think of or know
about. Its agood idea but its marketing it that really counts and ensuring
itdoesn't just sit there.I also think the lack of response must indicate that
most arbs havethis covered already.CheersJonathan 05/01/2007 14:29:33 >>>
TahirWell I'd obviously support any efforts you we willing
to input to thishaving flown the idea, but if arbs were to use it, let alone
update it,itwould have to sit somewhere they'd know and think to look for it
-likeAIE. Obviously for anything to do with AIE you'd need to contact
ChrisSkellern of this forum to see what might be done. That said there
hashardly been an avalanche of support for the concept which might
justindicate it wouldn't receive the requisite amount of input
either?Greatoffer though.John<<I'm pretty serious on this, as some of you may
recall I was workingon aproject to put my data together, unfortunately my
requirements werebeyond my own capabilities and were too costly to outsource.
What thisappears to need is something much simpler, not too hard at
all(relatively speaking). I'm already working on a cultivar DB
fororchardspecies, if this gets done too then all that will remain (to get
myinitial concept up) will be the complicated bit in the middle.Any comments
anyone?TahirTahir wrote:

successes and failures against noting the site
conditionsthat applied. Could become an invaluable
reference of practical 'local'honest info. Ever looked at ? A place like that which allowedregistered members to add their
comments would be pretty easy to knock up.I could
do some research if anyone's interested.>>
