I've worked in that area for years but the story's a new one to me.
Given the size of the Jewish population in that part of NW London I'm
surprised it lasted this this long.
Shows how a bit of, no doubt well intentioned, editing by the press can
confuse things - apparently the fungus has the biggest spores the
school's tree specialist has ever seen. Either he has a good microscope
or that should read sporophores.
Ref the swastika forest in David's post, one of my old forestry text
books has a photo of a plantation somewhere in the UK with ER picked out
in larch among the evergreens.
